Workspace Creation

A new workspace can be created using a dialog box accessible via the New Workspace button on the Workspaces setting page. In the dialog box, you can define the general information about the newly created workspace such as Name, Alias and Description.

Note that the alias must be unique! The value of the assigned alias is validated and if it already exists in Companion, the user is notified and the workspace is not created.

Name of the workspace and Alias are mandatory fields and must be filled in.

Additionally, the dialog provides options to disable specific features for the workspace. Each checkbox allows you to disable a particular feature:

  • Disable MT - disables Machine Translation functionality

  • Disable Evaluation - disables Automated Evaluation functionality

  • Disable Human Evaluation - disables Human Evaluation functionality

  • Disable Language - disables Language functionality

These settings can be changed at any time in the future using the workspace update dialog, and they apply to the active (selected) workspace.

When all necessary information is defined, just click on the Save changes button to create the new workspace.

By default, newly-created workspaces contain one pre-defined configuration for evaluation and the creator of the workspace is assigned as the owner. The workspace is immediately ready for use by the creator/owner.
